Dr. Preeti Sampat is Assistant Professor in Sociology at the Ambedkar University Delhi, India. As a USF International Fellow, Dr. Sampat will spend six months working with Professor Erik Swyngedouw at the Department of Geography, School of Environment, Education and Development in the University of Manchester, and will be associated with the Manchester Urban Institute. Dr. Sampat’s project examines and develops three significant dimensions of India’s urbanization processes: India’s growing rentier economy; more-than-human metabolics of construction; and the resistance to land consolidation for urbanization fueling India’s land impasse.
